Do you know who Mike Calhoun is?  Maybe you don't but I am sure if you have spent any amount of time in the MMA or WMMA communities you know who Babes of MMA is.  Mike and his team over at Babes of MMA are helping to draw attention to Womens MMA in different ways then maybe our conventional minds might think about, but that is what truly makes Mike and team over at Babes of MMA on the cutting edge of the Social Media and Marketing front.  Mike has also expanded Babes of MMA business model to also be able to recently start sponsoring Female Fighters.  Mike and his team at Babes of MMA are doing many great things and we are honored to be able to have them as our spotlight of the week this week.  So with out further ado her is Mike and the Babes of MMA.

Our spotlight of the week this week is going to be on Katrina Belcher.  If you don't know Katrina by name maybe you know her by some of the things she is involved in.  First and foremost she is the Owner and CEO of The Ultimate Female Fighter website.  She is heavily involved in the WMMA community as a reporter for WMMA, as someone who is always helping female fighters find sponsors, and an all around good friend to everyone she meets.  She is also the President of the only online MMA Referee and Judge workshop on the Internet and as if that wasn't enough she also owns her own Grant Writing business where she helps Non-Profit Organizations get grant money to be able to make the world a better place.  I could go on and on about all of the great things Katrina is involved in and things she is currently working on but why not let her tell you some of these things in her own words.

Well to get this series started we thought to show everyone how it would work we would go ahead and do the process on ourselves first.  So on Monday we selected a SchenkMMA follower.  That will be us this week.  Then we e-mailed our 5 questions to the selected follower.  We got our answers to the questions back on Thursday (Can you believe it took those people at SchenkMMA 3 days to get us their answers back?  I mean really what are they so busy doing?).  Then we posted the answers to their questions on Friday.  So just so everyone knows this will be the process going forward and please keep checking back each week to see who will be spotlighted on the site from week to week.  Our answers are posted below.

SchenkMMA Presents: Getting to know WMMA via Twitter

Here at SchenkMMA we are always looking for new and creative ways to get to know and spotlight people in the WMMA community.  So starting this Monday we are going to pick one person from the #WMMA community on Twitter and we are going to send them a simple five questions for them to answer.  Once we get their responses we will post their responses on Friday on our site and they will be the SchenkMMA Twitter Friend of the Week.  The only thing you need to do to be considered for this spotlight is to be "Following" SchenkMMA on Twitter.


So starting Monday we will make a selection and be reaching out to one of the SchenkMMA followers to get this spotlight started.  So look for the new spotlight segment to start next Friday and to continue until we run out of followers.  Remember all you have to do is "Follow" SchenkMMA on Twitter and we will get to you.  Just so everyone knows "everyone" will get a turn so don't rush us to be in the spotlight.   :)
